Filstorage Bolsters South East With Latest Appointment

RACKING and mezzanine floor specialist Filstorage has strengthen its presence in south east England with the appointment of a new regional account manager.

Mike Farrall, who brings more than 20 years’ experience of mezzanine flooring to the business, will cover an area from the Thames to the south coast, south London, and west as far as Portsmouth.

He joins Richard Coombs in the region, who covers the area to the north of the Thames.

Mike started his career in the storage and logistics sector, working extensively with online retail giant Amazon to supply and install mezzanine floors in the company’s warehouses in the UK and abroad.

From there he moved into the security sector, again working with the retail giant, to secure many of its logistics operations with perimeter fencing.

During the 20 years he spend in this sector, Mike co-wrote Amazon’s European Security Guidelines and was involved in producing the company’s UK security specifications.

Mike said he was pleased to be returning to ‘where it all started’ – the storage and logistics industry – in his new role.

The South East is one of the busiest regions for Filstorage due to the concentration of builders merchants in the area, and the ongoing high levels of development.

Mike said: “My career has swung between storage and logistics, and security, so this is a great role because I have a lot of experience to call on. I’ve slipped into the new role with ease.

“I live right in the centre of my patch which means nowhere is more than a two hour drive away. This means I will be able to give new and existing customers the level of service they expect from an established company like Filstorage.

“As ever, builders merchants remains a prime sector of us, but also any businesses with a need for anything from our portfolio, whether that is cantilever racking, mezzanine flooring, shop shelving or wire picking baskets.”
