Filplastic win 'Large Business of the Year' and 'Employee of the Year'

Filplastic are proud to have won 'Large Business of the Year' and 'Employee of the Year' at the Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards, on the 16th February.

Richard Deakin, Project Coordinator for Filplastic won 'Employee of the Year' following a comprehensive selection process. Richard joined  Filplastic in 2011 as an apprentice. The management team was quick to spot Richard's potential  and gave him more responsibility as part of the installation team. His attitude and pleasant manner with customers led to him being transferred to the sales office. Two years ago, Filplastic gave Richard the opportunity to manage and organise installations in a new Project Coordinator role. The company also arranged for him to complete a NEBOSH course because health and safety is key in his new role. As Project Coordinator, Richard oversees up to 30 projects at a time and always finds a solution, with a calmness and practicality rarely found in a person of his age.

Filplastic also picked up 'Large Business of the Year'. This year Filplastic celebrates 25 years in business. It is a nationwide supplier of storage and display equipment for showrooms, warehouses and yards, developing a niche in supplying Builders Merchants of all sizes and status throughout the UK.

At the heart of the company lies a philosophy of looking after both customers and employees and providing a top-notch level of service. Filplastic has given three apprentices full time jobs over the last five years. Many customers have been with the company since year one and the attitude to employees in enshrined in the fact the company has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People since 2002.
