Intro

In March 2018, Filplastic, one of the UK’s leading commercial storage and display experts, were appointed to design and complete installation at BBS Plumbing and Heating Supplies new Ashton Bristol branch.

Who are BBS Plumbing and Heating Supplies?

BBS Plumbing and Heating Supplies were founded in 1933 as a general building & agricultural merchant. The firm have established themselves as a major supplier of Commercial sanitary ware and heating equipment, supplying large M&E contractors as well as a broad base of customers across the plumbing and heating industry including local councils, universities and the NHS. They also hold stocks in excess of 6,000 items.

Customer Requirements

BBS Plumbing and Heating Supplies were in the process of opening a new branch in Ashton Bristol and required a complete fit out from empty building to fully functional outlet. The requirements included all aspects from design to installation encompassing end-to-end solutions throughout the project.

Solution

After initial site visits and discussions, various designs where put forth to BBS with the purpose of gaining maximum storage. A cooperative approach allowed us to ensure that we fulfilled all requirements from BBS Plumbing and Heating Supplies. Having previously worked on two other branches (Bristol and Bath), we were able to replicate the design which will allow BBS to keep a consistent format throughout their sites. The installation had to be carefully managed to allow tradesmen, electricians and partition work to be completed throughout the project.
